ARGH! YAH! Eeee.

Oh man oh man. . . I haven't made a post in a while! I've just been so under the weather lately it's just been killing me ugh. They need to hurry up and make a pill that instantly vaporizes illness. For now I guess chicken soup and lots of vitamin C will have to do (I've been stuffing my face with endless oranges from my orange tree, it's awesome). I hope it warms up a bit more, if it does I might get around to posting a video of me covering something on my guitar. Well, we'll see!

Inspiration on demand!

It isn't very often that you find an artist who absolutely amazes you with each and every song that they play. I mean of course we all have our favorite bands or musicians who make great tunes that we love listening to for a while. But after some time their songs, however good they may be, become tiring to you after a certain number of plays and so you seek other artists to keep your music palette nice and fresh. Well I've discovered one exception to this particular trend. One man who with his amazing display of keyboard prowess, breaks the cycle. His name is Ronald Jenkess. Yes, Ronald Jenkees. I discovered him about a year ago on Youtube while looking for new piano pieces to play. Somehow I stumbled on to one of his more hip hop-ish songs but that was all it took to get me hooked. I've been listening to his stuff regularly ever since and because his music has impressed me so much I've decided that I should go ahead and cover one or more of songs on my guitar as tribute to the man.

You don't have to take my word for it of course just check him out below. However, I must tell you now that while Ronald may come off as eccentric, he is without a doubt a bona fide bad-ass! Enjoy!

Minor Setback..

So today I pulled out my electric guitar to play some jams and get reacquainted with the little fella. At first I began playing her without any problems but then after a while her sound kind of took a dive and the tone fell flat! What I mean by this is that all the reverb and sustain had just disappeared. To fellow guitarists, it was like every tone dial automatically turned themselves to the off position and all I got was a whimper of a note trying to produce a sound. Now this was very frustrating, I tried playing through it and to my confusion the problem came and went at random times. It should be noted that this only happens when my guitar's toggle switch is set to the neck pickup. So I figure this must be a wiring problem related to the pickups and now I suppose I'll have to do some guitar maintenance before I can get my baby back to shredding condition. It sucks but in the meantime I guess my classical guitar will have to suffice.

Here's my electric anyway.

It's a Schecter Damien 6 which is a pretty basic model and isn't too special or anything but it and I have been through countless gigs together, produced tons of songs and wooed hoards and hoards of beautiful women together (Okay I might have exaggerated somewhere back there... just a bit). But I've always been more than satisfied with this guitar's sound and I learned practically everything on it! Blues, Jazz, Metal, Death Metal, Rock, Progressive, the list goes on and on. It hurts to see it in this condition but perhaps this just might be a sign telling me that it's time to upgrade to a whole new axe. Time will tell....

Let's get this party started!

Alright! My name is Nathan and I was a guitarist for seven years up until about three months ago when I was suddenly forced to quit. It was a terrible three months indeed, and without surprise my finger speed and dexterity has diminished. To a guitarist who loves his solos this is comparable to a guy losing an inch of length off of his penis. However, now it seems destiny has allowed to pick up my beloved instrument once again! And I shall document my re-rise to ultimate guitar power every step of the way!
